Housing Development

We recognise the importance of housing and development across our area, and there’s lots going on.

Whether it’s supporting the needs of our current residents, or looking towards the housing mix we’re going to need for the future, we’re working on activity to make sure the housing we need is in place to support the activity in the sectors.

Supported by an efficient planning process, housing development underpins growth and is a key feature of North East Lincolnshire’s infrastructure offer to inward investors.

North East Lincolnshire has been awarded Housing Zone status and we are keen to work with all developers, interested in investing in the area, from national developers to smaller SME developers.

Working in partnership with providers, developers, contractors and the local community, we will bring forward neighbourhood improvements and infrastructure scheme that unlock housing growth and create attractive and vibrant urban quarters.

Our new local plan sets out our plans; https://www.nelincs.gov.uk/planning-and-building-control/planning-policy/the-local-plan/

Our award winning planning team are here to work with developers, helping to provide specialist planning advice.

So if you’re thinking of developing, talk to us. We will help guide you through the process – from finding land to contractors moving on site.

Brownfield Land Register

North East Lincolnshire has a range of Brownfield sites available for housing development.

Details about these sites has been gathered together and published in a Brownfield Land Register. The purpose of the register is to provide information about the brownfield sites within the Borough considered suitable for housing-led development. It includes information such as: the planning status of the site; an estimation of the potential number of dwellings the site could accommodate; the ownership status; and, any relevant constraints.

For further information about the Brownfield Land Register and, to view and download a copy of the register please see our Brownfield Land Register webpage.

If you are a housing developer, please email the spatial planning team on newlocalplan@nelincs.gov.uk to declare an interest in any of the outlined sites and we will pass on your contact details to the land owner, so they can get in touch with you directly.
