Small Business Saturday UK

This year, Small Business Saturday UK takes place on Saturday 5 December and once again, North East Lincolnshire Council is proud to be supporting the campaign with free parking in most council-operated car parks.

In 2019, 17.6 million people turned out at small businesses on the UK’s seventh Small Business Saturday – a record for the campaign and an increase of more than four million people from 2018.

Small Business Saturday also drew high engagement on social media, with #SmallBizSatUK and #SmallBusinessSaturday the UK’s top two trends throughout the day.

More than 250 small business organisations supported the nation-wide initiative, including the Federation of Small Business.

Small Business Saturday saw a massive surge in FacebookInstagram and Twitter posts with more people sharing their small business stories.

Supporting small local businesses is something that we encourage throughout the year, so please continue to lend your support to this campaign by having a rethink about where to buy goods and services. By spending just some of your weekly shopping budget with a local business, you can make a huge impact on the local economy and on that small business.
