Connectivity

North East Lincolnshire and its enterprise zones benefit from fast, congestion-free access to the UK motorway network via the A180 dual carriageway. The area’s north-south central UK location enables return road freight journeys, within one 9-hour HGV driver shift, to:

– All of England’s major conurbations and manufacturing centres
– All of England’s major airports including East Midlands and Heathrow (the UK’s no.2 & no.1 air cargo hubs)
– More than 40 million UK consumers

Handing over 46-millions tonnes of cargo a year, the Port of Immingham provides direct sea freight connections to European and international destinations, including:

– 40+ lo-lo (container) and ro-ro services per week to Northern Europe, Scandinavia and Iceland

– Deep-sea feeder operations to Rotterdam, providing fast, frequent onward services to global markets

Both Grimsby and Immingham ports are connected to the UK rail network, with more than 240 rail freight movements per week handled at Immingham terminal. Both ports now benefit from W12 gauge rail access, enabling the transportation of ‘high cube’ containers.

Humberside Airport (HUY) is located just 7 miles from Immingham, providing:

– 7 days-per-week ‘hub-feeder’ services to Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) airport – enabling fast connections to more than 800 global destinations (with KLM and Sky Team Partners)
– 4 x daily, 6 days-per-week services to Aberdeen (ABZ) (Eastern Airways)
