Launch of New Loyal to Local Campaign

11:30 am, Friday, 14th August 2020

As the government urges shoppers to visit their local high street during Shop Local week being loyal to local has never been more important…..which is why the North East Lincolnshire Council and the area’s leading business support organisations E-Factor and Investment Hub NEL are joining forces to send out a very simple request through their brand new campaign Loyal to Local NEL.

“Businesses that make up our local high streets, offices, business parks and industrial sites, along with the thousands of self-employed traders, and entrepreneurs across the area have been seriously affected during this pandemic” said Rachel Appleton, Business Advisor for E-Factor. “Not only do they account for over 90% of employment in the area, they are essential to the future of our towns and villages and help to create choice within our communities which is why we feel so passionately about driving this campaign.”

“We’re trying to make people aware that when you spend locally, you’re investing in the local economy and that means so much more!  You could be contributing toward local employment and further local spend through suppliers. For every £1 spent locally, it creates £4 for the local economy.”

Deborah Cooper, Investment Officer for North East Lincolnshire Council also commented “We welcome all types of businesses to get involved this campaign which will run across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Our key aim is to encourage local spending and we look forward to highlighting new services, collaborations between businesses, new launches, those who have diversified, new innovations and other exciting offers.”

“We will also be running fun competitions to win shopping vouchers to spend along with key themes to develop momentum of local people being loyal to local businesses.

As slowly but surely the country starts to ‘unlock’ it has never been more important to recognise the importance of supporting the local economy.”

“Our purpose is to help the local business community thrive and we feel that our Loyal to Local campaign will help to support that in North East Lincolnshire and surrounding areas.

We hope that people will get behind us by following @LoyaltoLocalNEL on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag  #whereyourspendmatters”
